The Prani Mirta Program is a flagship rural initiative by HIMAL (Himalayan Inhabitants Movement for Agri-Vet Livelihood) under Himalayan Organic Life in association with the ARD Department Darjeeling (Animal Resource Development Department).focused on strengthening Self Help Groups (SHGs) through skill-based training in animal husbandry.
In the districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, and Kurseong, over 70 individuals have already been trained under Prani Mirta. They have learned modern and sustainable methods of cow care, poultry farming (hen rearing), and pig rearing, empowering local families to build secure, organic livelihoods.
Program Highlights:
