Dalle Khursani is a Capsicum annuum variety. It is primarily cultivated for its pungent fruits in Darjeeling, Kalimpong and its neighbouring areas, such as Sikkim & North Bengal. The red cherry pepper (Capsicum annum var cerasiforme), also popularly known as Dalle khursani in the himalayan region, is valued for its distinct flavour and pungency. Capsicum is a member of the Solanaceae family and the genus Capsicum. In the open area, the plant can reach a height of 100-130 cm, and in the greenhouse, it can reach a height of 150-180 cm. Red Cherry Pepper pods come in a variety of shapes and sizes, including falling pods, upright pods, yellow pods, and circular pods. Each plant yields 2.5 to 3.0 kg of fruit with 500 to 1000 pods.
Under safe conditions, the crop can be cultivated all year. Our region's Dalle Khursani is a pungent chilli with many medicinal properties. It's used to make pickle, paste, powder, and dry chilli (chilli may be selected green or ripe for pickling).Dalle chilli produces capsaicin, a pungency-producing agent, as well as carotenoid and phenolic compounds, which are used as natural pigments and antioxidants.
The Himalayan fireball, also known as Dalle Khursani, is one of the world's hottest chilies. Darjeeling and Sikkim are two Himalayan regions where it is primarily cultivated. Dalle Khursani is one of the hottest chilies found in the Himalayan region, and it belongs to the Capsicum tribe. It has a round appearance that almost looks like a cherry when fully mature, and it is bright red when fully ripe from August to December.

Dalle Dip: For the Fearless, Not the Faint of Heart
Before you dive in, let’s get one thing straight—this dip is NOT for the weak. If your spice tolerance is closer to “mild ketchup” than “fire-breathing dragon,” proceed with caution. Seriously. We take no responsibility for involuntary sweating, gasping, or suddenly questioning your life choices.
How to Use Dalle Dip (Without Regret)
1. Classic Dip Mode – For brave souls, dunk your chips, nachos, or fresh veggies. Just make sure you have a glass of milk nearby.
2. Momo’s Best Friend – MoMos and Dalle Dip? A match made in fiery heaven. But don’t say I didn’t warn you!
3. Sneaky Sandwich Booster – Spread a thin (I repeat, THIN) layer on sandwiches, burgers, or wraps. Any more and your taste buds might stage a protest.
4. Marination Master – A spoonful in marinades adds depth to meats, tofu, or paneer. Be careful—your grill might start smoking before the food goes in.
5. Stir-in Spice Bomb – Blend it into curries or stir-fries to level up your spice game. Ideal for those who like their food to fight back.
6. Fiery Noodle Fusion – Mix it into rice or noodles for an explosion of heat. Recommended only if you can handle food that bites back.
7. Eggs on Fire – Drizzle over scrambled eggs or omelets for a wake-up call stronger than coffee.
Warning: This is not your average tomato dip—it’s a Himalayan heatwave in a jar! If spice makes you cry, consider using it sparingly (or gifting it to a friend you secretly want to prank)J
Now that’s the spirit! For those brave enough to take on the Dalle Dip challenge, make sure you have a rescue plan—whether it’s a tall glass of milk, a scoop of ice cream, or just sheer determination.
